ANO Centre for Cultural Research

ANO Centre for Cultural Research

Named after the Akan word for ‘grandmother,’ the ANO Centre for Cultural Research is a significant cultural institution in Ghana. Founded by renowned Ghanaian art historian, writer, and filmmaker Nana Oforiatta-Ayim, the center recently opened a thoughtfully curated permanent space for exhibitions and screenings, complete with a workshop and library.

Visitors are encouraged to time their visit to coincide with one of the center’s weekly events, which offer an in-depth exploration of the current exhibitions. These events provide valuable insights and foster a deeper appreciation of the art and cultural heritage showcased at the center.
