HOW TO FIND CHEAP FLIGHTS?

We’ve put together a guide to help you travel more affordably with just five steps.

Book at the Right Time:

Airplane tickets are usually released for sale between 7 and 10 months in advance, but buying them right when they are released is not the best option. According to some studies, the best time to purchase your plane ticket is between 90 and 30 days before your trip, but it also depends on the destination.

Can the destination influence the timing of the booking? Absolutely. Each destination has a specific booking window.

According to the study, here are the ideal times to buy tickets for each type of trip:

Flights to European cities: about 6 months before the flight

Flights to the United States: about 7 months before the flight

Flights to South America: about 5 months before the flight

Flights to Asia: about 8 months before the flight

Naturally, the bigger the trip, the more planning it requires. Keep in mind that the best days to book your flight are Tuesday and Wednesday.

Don’t Fixate on One Destination:

To travel on a budget, you have to be adaptable and seize the opportunities that come your way. Sometimes, the destination you want to visit is very expensive, and you may have to settle for another place. That’s life; you can’t have it all. Our advice is not to hesitate and give that alternative destination a chance; it might surprise you.

Be Flexible with Dates:

The more flexible you are with your travel dates, the better your chances of finding cheap flights. It’s similar to being flexible with the destination. The issue is that not everyone has complete availability. Usually, traveling in winter and autumn tends to be cheaper than in spring and summer. Similarly, traveling on weekdays is cheaper than on the weekends. Our advice is to travel during the low season whenever possible.

Opt for Flights with Layovers:

Having a layover before reaching your destination can be an inconvenience, but it comes with its rewards. Flights with layovers are cheaper. Not only that, but they also have their advantages. There are layovers of 10 hours or more, during which you can take the opportunity to visit another city.

However, flights with layovers are recommended if your stay will be long, and you don’t mind losing a day. For example, if you’re only traveling for a weekend, it’s not cost-effective because you’ll lose most of your time and won’t be able to make the most of your trip.

Don’t Check Your Luggage If Unnecessary:

On long-distance flights, you usually won’t have to pay to check your suitcase, but on low-cost flights, you will. We recommend that you bring just the essentials that fit in your hand luggage. If you’ll be away for more than a week, remember that you can always do laundry. Carrying large suitcases filled with clothes is unnecessary; you won’t use most of them. If you want to save on your trip, remember not to overpack.
